Divide a shape with one line into two equal shapes with equal areas? [on hold]

Please see the image below. This is an online example test my friend is doing for a chinese entry job and i had a look over some and was really interested by this as i couldn't figure it out. I assume the line can be any and doesn't have to be straight... any ideas appreciated.

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:
- "This looks like a puzzle you found elsewhere. For content you did not create yourself, proper attribution is required. If you have permission to repost this, please edit to include (at minimum) where it came from, then vote to reopen. Posts which use someone else's content without attribution are generally deleted." – Gareth McCaughan

Also, by one line, do you mean one straight line or any line/curve at all?

If this is an online example test, you should be able to provide a URL to the problem; the proper attribution page specifically says "Provide a link to the original page or answer" so please do so. We don't require academic rigor for attribution, but "an online example test" doesn't seem adequate to properly give credit where credit is due.

If this is an online example test, you should be able to provide a URL to the problem; the proper attribution page specifically says "Provide a link to the original page or answer" so please do so. We don't require academic rigor for attribution, but "an online example test" doesn't seem adequate to properly give credit where credit is due.
