Gatão ist ein Ort und eine ehemalige Gemeinde im Norden Portugals

Gatão gehört zum Kreis Amarante im Distrikt Porto. Die Gemeinde hatte eine Fläche von 6 km² und hat 1587 Einwohner (Stand 30. Juni 2011).

Am 29. September 2013 wurden die Gemeinden Gatão, Madalena, Cepelos und Amarante (São Gonçalo) zur neuen Gemeinde União das Freguesias de Amarante (São Gonçalo), Madalena, Cepelos e Gatão zusammengefasst.[1]


Der Ort Gatão ist Namensgeber für den gleichnamigen Wein, da ursprünglich die Trauben aus diesem Ort kamen.[2]
